Chef Lim Seong-geun shared the behind-the-scenes of 〈Black and White Chef 2〉.
On the morning of the 14th, Korean cuisine master Chef Lim Seong-geun revealed his thoughts on participating in the Netflix original variety show 〈Black and White Chef: Culinary Class Wars Season 2〉 (hereafter 〈Black and White Chef 2〉) through his YouTube channel ‘ImjangTV’.
In the video, Lim Seong-geun recounted the intense situation during the 'Black and White Team Battle All or Nothing' where he had to prepare 100 servings. Reflecting on that moment, Chef Lim candidly expressed, “If things had gone wrong, I would have become the villain, but thankfully we won overwhelmingly and seem to be receiving good reviews.”
Lim Seong-geun initially planned to use garlic sauce but realized that the amount of garlic prepared on-site was only about 2kg, which was far too little to make 100 servings. He explained, “The moment I saw the ingredients, I changed my plan. Since there was a shortage of garlic, I decided on the spot to mix whole grain mustard and orientation dressing to create the sauce.” During this process, Chef Lim shared an anecdote about collaborating with the master chef, saying, “When I said I would chop the garlic, Executive Chef Huh Deok-juk lent me his knife and even chopped it for me.” He conveyed the secret of teamwork, stating, “There’s a connection among experts. You can tell just by looking into each other’s eyes, so the Executive Chef trusted me.”
Meanwhile, 〈Black and White Chef 2〉 aired its final episode on the 13th.
