Girl group BLACKPINK has set another significant record in the U.S. market ahead of their full group comeback after 3 years and 5 months. With the hit song 'Run', they have proven their unwavering global status by obtaining Gold Certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

According to the official announcement from RIAA on the 15th (local time), BLACKPINK's 'Run' surpassed 500,000 units as of the 11th of last month, earning the Gold certification. The RIAA certification is awarded based on the total sales of albums, paid digital downloads, and streaming figures in the U.S., making it one of the most authoritative indicators of success in the American music market.

Notably, 'Run' achieved 75 million streams without a physical album release, meeting the certification criteria and drawing attention. This suggests that BLACKPINK's music power remains strong.

Global achievements have also followed. 'Run' has received Platinum Certification from Music Canada and has recorded over 30 million streams with the French National Syndicate of Phonographic Publishing (SNEP), adding a Single Platinum Certification. They have also received Gold Certifications in Australia, Belgium, and New Zealand, proving their worldwide popularity.

Released in July last year, 'Run' has achieved remarkable results, including surpassing 470 million streams on Spotify and entering the U.S. Billboard 'Hot 100' for 10 consecutive weeks.

Meanwhile, BLACKPINK will make a surprise comeback with their third mini-album 'DEADLINE' on February 27th. As this is their first full group album in about 3 years and 5 months since the release of their second studio album 'BORN PINK' in 2022, this global achievement is expected to ignite excitement for their comeback.
