
Who will be the next generation Big Bang and Blackpink?
YG Entertainment is embarking on a mission to discover major new talents that will lead the next generation of the K-pop market under the leadership of Chief Producer Yang Hyun-suk. On the 9th, YG Entertainment announced in a press release that Yang Hyun-suk will be fully involved from the initial screening stage of the '2026 YG SPECIAL AUDITION : GO! DEBUT'.
This audition is a special project aimed at selecting key artists who will be responsible for YG's future, going beyond simple talent recruitment. YG stated, "The biggest differentiator of this audition is that Chief Producer Yang Hyun-suk will personally take part from the first hurdle of document screening," expressing a strong commitment to create the second Big Bang and Blackpink.
Along with the announcement of the audition, YG ignited the enthusiasm of prospective applicants by releasing a video featuring the growth stories of its artists, Treasure and Baby Monster. The video showcased artists receiving cheers from fans on stage after going through systematic training from the moment they were selected as trainees.
Recently, YG has significantly strengthened its training system, adopting a strategy to drastically shorten the time required for debut. This audition also aims to quickly launch the next generation group by selecting potential talents at an early stage.
Applications for the '2026 YG SPECIAL AUDITION : GO! DEBUT' will be accepted until February 28. Eligibility is open to any youth born between 2007 and 2015, regardless of gender or nationality. Applicants can choose one area they are confident in, such as singing, rapping, dancing, visuals, or talent, and submit a video of about one minute showcasing their potential. Applications can be made through the official YG audition website and the QR code on the poster.
