'Ghost Summoning App: Young' Kim Kyunam X Anupam X Kim Heejeong Press Conference Held!

The press screening and press conference for the first tech horror film of 2026, 'Ghost Summoning App: Young', was successfully held at CGV Yongsan I-Park Mall. The press conference for the movie 'Ghost Summoning App: Young', which depicts the strange phenomena that occur as a ghost detection app 'Young', developed by students for fun, unseals a forbidden place, took place on the afternoon of the 9th at CGV Yongsan in Icho-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul. The event was attended by director Hyung Seul-woo, Ko Hee-seob, Lee Sang-min, Son Min-jun, Kim Seung-tae, as well as actors Kim Kyunam, Anupam, Kim Heejeong, Yang Joah, and Park Seo-ji, who shared various stories about the work.

'Ghost Summoning App: Young' features incidents occurring in various spaces such as mountains, offices, express buses, repair shops, and shared houses as a curse spreads due to the app. Director Lee Sang-min, who completed the horror backdrop with a bus setting, stated, "As a resident of Gyeonggi-do commuting to Seoul, I naturally thought of the bus as a space," and added, "I found the characteristics of the horizontally long space interesting and tried to utilize it." Son Min-jun, who also starred as the lead actor in a setting based in a nursing home, mentioned, "We actually filmed in a place that treated leprosy patients in the past," and added, "The atmosphere of the actual space heightened the tension of the film."

Episodes about the atmosphere on set also heightened interest. Actor Kim Kyunam, who acted in a horror situation that occurred in a shared house, said, "Since the set was small, the actors in ghost makeup overlapped with the waiting space." He shared an anecdote about immersing himself in the character who had to experience fear, saying, "I wanted to see the ghost for the first time after the cue sign, so I covered my eyes and walked around as much as possible before filming."

Yang Joah, who played the role of a special cleaner, said, "Since we were filming early in the morning, even small sounds were particularly loud, and the very act of filming a horror movie felt like performing a séance, which was scary." She added, "Thinking about the steps that the crew had to clean up the blood-splattered scene was scary in a different way," which drew laughter. Park Seo-ji, who filmed on a moving express bus, stated, "We filmed while repeatedly driving on actual roads," and noted, "Since the bus was so narrow, only a minimum number of people boarded, but that actually made the atmosphere more intimate." Kim Heejeong, who is challenging her first horror film after her debut, shared, "I usually can't watch horror movies, so I had a lot of concerns after reading the script, but I gained courage because Yang Joah acted so terrifyingly well that we matched our breaths." She continued, "Due to the nature of the special cleaner role, it was physically demanding, and it was such an intense experience that I actually caught a cold after an all-night shoot." Yang Joah revealed, "I had to show suddenly changing expressions, so I practiced quickly contracting and relaxing my muscles for body control." Anupam, who acted facing fear while repairing a used mobile phone, said, "As an actor, I have a lot of interest in my eyes. I focused on transforming my kind eyes into terrified ones," and shared, "I took breaths until my head hurt."

On that day, the director and actors made various promises for surpassing 100,000 viewers for 'Ghost Summoning App: Young'. Promises included experiencing horror in an abandoned house with fans, singing duets on a moving express bus, and inviting 100 people to the actual filming location to dress up as ghosts and chase them, filling the scene with laughter. In particular, Kim Heejeong and Yang Joah, who played roles of special cleaners in the early morning in the film, humorously promised, "We will go to the homes of those who need house cleaning and clean thoroughly to the floor," and "I will act possessed like in the movie and curse you from a close distance, recording it to help you with a miracle morning alarm." The movie 'Ghost Summoning App: Young' will be available at CGV on February 18th.
