According to FX and Hulu on the 13th (Korean time), the 8-part limited series 'Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette' was officially released on the 12th. Based on the book by Elizabeth Beller, this work depicts the couple's fatal love and the media frenzy leading up to their untimely deaths in a plane crash in July 1999.

The series begins in 1999, with Carolyn (played by Sarah Pigeon) trapped in a nail salon surrounded by paparazzi. Looking down at her freshly painted red nails, she ultimately requests, "Please redo them in a neutral color." This scene symbolizes her suffocating life, where she had to give up her own preferences due to public scrutiny. Sarah Pigeon, a Tony Award nominee, plays Carolyn, while newcomer Paul Anthony Kelly takes on the role of JFK Jr. Additionally, Naomi Watts portrays Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, and Grace Gummer plays Caroline Kennedy, adding weight to the drama.

◆ "Outdated Misogyny" vs "Disrespect to the Family"

Creator Corner Hines stated, "The way the media portrayed Carolyn at the time was unbelievably misogynistic," emphasizing that this series aims to shed light on her perspective.

However, the family's view is not favorable. JFK Jr.'s nephew Jack Schlossberg expressed his displeasure in an interview, stating, "Ryan Murphy proceeded with the production without the family's involvement." He particularly criticized Paul Kelly, who plays his uncle, for his "bloated appearance." Documentary director and cousin Lori Kennedy also showed hesitation about watching, calling it "a great pain for our family."

Meanwhile, on the same day as the drama's release, the ABC network aired a special documentary titled 'John and Carolyn | Love, Beauty and Loss', featuring archival footage of the real couple, providing an opportunity to compare the drama with reality.
