Shin Hye-sun shared her own interpretation of 'Sarah Kim'.
On the afternoon of the 20th, an interview with 〈Lady Dua〉 actress Shin Hye-sun took place at a location in Jongno-gu, Seoul. On this day, Shin Hye-sun met with Cineplay to discuss various topics, including the behind-the-scenes of 〈Lady Dua〉 and her own interpretation of the work.
The Netflix series 〈Lady Dua〉, released on February 13, depicts the story of a woman, 'Sarah Kim', who wanted to be a luxury item even if it was fake, and a man, 'Mu-gyeong', who tracks her desires. Shin Hye-sun plays 'Sarah Kim', the head of the Asian branch of the luxury brand 'Bodua', targeting the top 0.1%. Her actions, oscillating between meticulously crafted lies and inscrutable truths, confuse people and complicate the investigation.
Shin Hye-sun, who played multiple personas such as Sarah Kim, Mok Ga-hee, and Kim Eun-jae in 〈Lady Dua〉, summarized the work by saying, "〈Lady Dua〉 is the process of Sarah Kim finding her identity." However, she also explained, "Sarah Kim is a character with aspirations that go beyond the norm. She is a friend searching for her desires, but ironically, the closer she gets to her destination, the more empty she seems. All of Sarah Kim's personas are twisted characters." Additionally, regarding the scene in 〈Lady Dua〉 where Mu-gyeong (Lee Jun-hyuk) asks Sarah Kim for her name, she added, "If I were Sarah Kim, I don't think I would have answered the question. I didn't think the name itself was important."
The 〈Lady Dua〉 starring Shin Hye-sun is currently streaming on Netflix.
