‘Mismatch’ Oh Dae-hwan, Oh Yoon-ah, Ahn Seok-hwan, Lee Jun-hyuk, Ko Gyu-pil, Shin Soo-yeon! April Release Confirmed!

A man who experiences a sudden accident has all his relationships become a ‘mismatch’ due to a malfunction in his memory, leading to a chaotic family comedy.

The outrageous family comedy 〈Mismatch〉 has confirmed its release in April 2026 and unveiled its teaser poster. The film 〈Mismatch〉 tells the story of an ordinary man in South Korea, ‘Bong-soo’ (Oh Dae-hwan), who, after experiencing a sudden accident, misremembers all his relationships, including his wife, daughter, father, brother, best friend, and colleagues, due to a malfunction in his memory. Although he appears to be a tough guy on the outside, Bong-soo lives a powerless life, unable to assert himself at work or at home. After an accidental reboot of his life, he finds himself in a series of laughable mishaps within a completely ‘mismatched’ relationship with his closest family and colleagues. 〈Mismatch〉 will explore the audacious imagination of ‘What if my relationship with that person was different?’ with its unique black comedy sensibility, providing both empathy and laughter.

The teaser poster released alongside the news of the release features the copy ‘Who am I?’ which piques curiosity, showcasing Bong-soo’s characteristic grumpy expression and tired dark circles, making him look like just an old neighborhood uncle rather than a character from ‘Oldboy’. Additionally, the copy ‘outrageous family comedy’ hints at the outrageous episodes and comedic events related to family, already capturing the audience's interest. Meanwhile, the powerful casting lineup responsible for bringing a new fun to Korean comedic family dramas also draws attention. Oh Dae-hwan, who has been loved for his performances in both films and dramas, has been cast as Bong-soo, the center of the absurd life reboot, promising to deliver his signature relatable comedic acting. Oh Yoon-ah will play the role of Bong-soo’s wife and the strong woman of the household, Ban Seong-hye, showcasing a unique charm as a realistic wife character who oscillates between coldness and warmth. Joining them are Ahn Seok-hwan as Bong-soo’s extremely conservative father Seok-gu, Lee Jun-hyuk as the uncontrollable best friend Sang-young, Ko Gyu-pil as the immature younger brother Man-soo, and Shin Soo-yeon as the rebellious daughter Ji-yoon, all of whom are talented actors that will vividly portray the chaotic family dynamics that have become completely tangled.

Director Son Tae-woong, who wrote the screenplay for the film 〈The Dog of Flanders〉 and made a fresh impact in Chungmuro with 〈Anatomy Class〉, takes the helm and returns to commercial cinema after a long time to meet the audience. Through 〈Mismatch〉, Director Son Tae-woong will depict the family’s journey of rediscovering each other through the amnesia caused by the accident, presenting both laughter and warmth. Watching the characters who become increasingly confused within their tangled memories and relationships makes one curious about what kind of ‘mismatched’ relationships they are entangled in. The outrageous family comedy 〈Mismatch〉, which portrays the relationships brought about by a man's faulty memory, will be available in theaters this April.
