Actors Yoo Yeon-seok and Seo Hyun-jin reunite after 10 years for the meticulously crafted 'psychological thriller' genre. MBC officially announced on the 22nd that it will premiere the new Friday-Saturday drama 'Liar', starring the two actors, at 9:50 p.m. on Oct. 30.

'Liar' closely follows the fierce clash between a man and a woman who make diametrically opposed claims about a single memory from the past. As the boundary between truth and lies collapses, the story promises to put viewers' powers of deduction to the test.

Yoo Yeon-seok plays 'Min Jun-ho', a cardiac surgeon who combines cold rationality with passionate devotion to fatherhood. In the operating room, he is an unyielding, levelheaded doctor, but at home he is an endlessly affectionate single father raising his only son alone. Seo Hyun-jin stars opposite him as 'Kang Ji-seon', an elementary school teacher-librarian. She leads an ordinary life until she becomes entangled with 'Min Jun-ho', the parent of one of her students, and is swept into an uncontrollable turmoil of emotions.

Their reunion, exactly 10 years after the first season of SBS' 'Dr. Romantic' became a 2016 sensation, has generated intense anticipation both inside and outside the broadcasting industry. Joining the two leads' formidable chemistry are proven actors Ok Ja-yeon, Lim Seong-jae, Kim Ji-hyun and Lee Chun-hee, whose presence will heighten the drama's tension.

The production team also boasts an impressive lineup that promises a polished result. Baek Jae-young, known for her strong writing, penned the script, while director Jo Young-min, praised for his nuanced handling of emotions in 'The Interest of Love' and 'Do You Like Brahms?', takes the helm, signaling the arrival of a well-crafted thriller.
