Actor Tony Leung will visit Seoul.

The importing and distributing company Andamiro Co., Ltd. announced on the 12th that the lead actor Tony Leung and director Ildiko Enyedi will visit Korea from April 2 to April 4 to meet with Korean audiences ahead of the release of 〈Silent Friend〉, an official selection at the 82nd Venice International Film Festival.

〈Silent Friend〉 is a story centered around a ginkgo tree rooted since 1832, connecting characters from three eras: 1908, 1972, and 2020. Tony Leung plays the role of Tony, a lonely neuroscientist in 2020, which is also generating significant buzz as his first European film.

This visit by Tony Leung is particularly meaningful as it marks his first promotional visit for a film in 18 years since he came to Korea for the promotion of 〈Red Cliff: The Beginning of a Great War〉. He has shown deep affection for his Korean fans by visiting Korea several times for the Busan International Film Festival and personal schedules. Especially this time, following last year's Busan International Film Festival, he is expected to heighten the anticipation of domestic film fans by visiting Seoul for the official release.

Director Ildiko Enyedi, who is visiting Korea with him, is regarded as a master of European cinema, having attended the Jeonju International Film Festival in 2017 with 〈On Body and Soul〉. This will be her first time visiting Seoul for promotional activities. During their three-day visit, the two will engage in in-depth discussions about the film through various events.

〈Silent Friend〉 will be released in theaters on April 15.
