Kim Hyang-gi and Cha Hak-yeon’s “The Absolute Value of Romance” — Character Poster Premiere Showcasing Five Characters and Five Unique Charms

The romance title 〈The Absolute Value of Romance〉 has released these character posters, promising to make you “fall head over heels” for those handsome teachers.

Coupang Play’s series 〈The Absolute Value of Romance〉 tells the story of Uiju (Kim Hyang-gi), an ordinary high school student who also lives a double life as a BL novel writer, as she becomes entangled with a group of handsome teachers. Ahead of its April release, 〈The Absolute Value of Romance〉 built anticipation by unveiling character posters for Uiju and four handsome teacher leads on March 27.

First, Uiju—played by Kim Hyang-gi—shows a dazed expression while hugging a laptop atop the novel she wrote titled “We Were Friends,” sparking curiosity about what’s to come. Next, Cha Hak-yeon, Kim Jae-hyun, Son Jeong-hyeok, and Kim Dong-kyu brought out the fullest charm of each character. Gao-soo (Cha Hak-yeon), a charismatic math teacher, sits on top of a math textbook in a neat suit. Foreign language teacher Nodajoo (Kim Jae-hyun) offers a relaxed smile befitting a multilingual talent, paired with unpredictable energy. Physical presence and a forward-moving appeal are previewed for P.E. teacher Jeong-gi-jeon (Son Jeong-hyeok), a former national team player. And Yoon Dong-joo (Kim Dong-kyu), the quintessential Korean language teacher—beloved for his warmth—holds both kindness and ease in his gentle, deep gaze, leaving you wondering how he’ll capture viewers.
