Steven Spielberg has spilled a behind-the-scenes story about 〈Interstellar〉.

With his next project 〈Disclosure Day〉 currently preparing for release, Steven Spielberg, in a recent interview, revealed that 〈Interstellar〉 was originally his own project. He said he was preparing to direct at the suggestion of Kip Thorne and the producer who were serving as advisors for 〈Interstellar〉, and he met a range of scientists at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in California.

However, feeling that the screenplay written by Jonathan Nolan didn’t align with his own, Spielberg ended up giving up on directing. At that time, Jonathan Nolan reportedly said, “My brother has been nagging me every day,” and hinted at his successor. And in fact, the very next day after Spielberg stepped away from directing, Jonathan Nolan’s brother, Christopher Nolan, took over directing for 〈Interstellar〉.

Spielberg said, “〈Interstellar〉 became a much better movie in director Christopher Nolan’s hands,” and he couldn’t contain his praise for the younger master.
