Director Chie Hayakawa is coming to meet Korean audiences.
On April 13, Director Chie Hayakawa, who directed 〈Renoir〉, announced her upcoming visit to Korea. The film opens on April 22, and the following day, from Thursday, April 23, through Saturday, April 25, she will meet with audiences. After Director Chie Hayakawa visited Busan about half a year ago when 〈Renoir〉 was invited to the “Window to Asian Cinema” section at the 30th Busan International Film Festival, she decided to return to Korea to meet audiences again.
〈Renoir〉 is a film about 11-year-old Fuki, who finds herself in the middle of summer vacation in 1980, and it is an invited competition title for the 78th Cannes International Film Festival. Having completed the screenplay before her debut feature, 〈Plan 75〉, Director Chie Hayakawa’s 〈Renoir〉 is expected to be an even more meaningful work, beginning with the question, “When does a child become an adult?” based on her personal memories tied to parting with her father.
With a GV and a stage greeting centered on sharing a heartfelt story, Director Chie Hayakawa’s 〈Renoir〉 will be available in theaters on April 22.
