The Broadcasting, Media and Communications Commission will roll out 'Investment Briefings' and 'Non-Competitive Section Screening Events' by presenting a total of seven Korean dramas selected through an open call held last February. The main lineup by schedule is as follows.
Day 23 (Investment Briefing): A spotlight on four anticipated titles—'A Secret Thank-You', 'Bloody Flower', 'Gokdu', and '21st Century Lady'—targeting overseas major broadcasters, production companies, and investors.
Day 24 (Non-Competitive Section Screening Event): Three official screenings, including 'The Divine Bead', 'Everything About You', and 'Genfluencer'.
Immediately after the screenings, the directors, writers, and key cast members will attend in person to hold conversations with local audiences and conduct press interviews, with plans to highlight the true value of the works.
Wide-Ranging Government Support and Proof of Global Competitiveness
This Cannes series participation is a key pillar of the government support program aimed at 'Expanding Overseas Distribution Networks' for 'K-Content' and 'Creating Opportunities for Global Co-Productions'. The Commission plans to continuously expand the foundation for Korean content’s overseas expansion by using this event as a stepping stone.
'Kim Jong-cheol', chair of the Broadcasting, Media and Communications Commission, said, "Korean broadcasting content demonstrates worldwide competitiveness based on innovative production capabilities that combine original material, refined emotions, and 'Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology'." He added, "We will spare no effort to fully support excellent creations so they can successfully take root in global markets," emphasizing the commitment.
