Moon Sang-hoon from 'BDNS' has chosen the film 〈Nirvana the Band...〉 (hereafter 〈Nirvana the Band...〉), starring the duo Matt and Jay from 'Nirvana the Band,' which has nothing to do with the legendary band 'Nirvana.' The film, in which they carry out a bizarre plan to build a time machine for their show and return to the day they first met 17 years earlier, has unveiled its release date, poster, and trailer.
A time-machine chaos comedy for the comedic duo 〈Nirvana the Band...〉, which won the Audience Award in the Midnight Madness section at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival and the Audience Award in the Midnight section at the SXSW Film Festival, depicts what happens as the duo Matt and Jay of 'Nirvana the Band' set their plan in motion to build a time machine on performance day. Scheduled to be revealed at the Jeonju International Film Festival on April 29, 〈Nirvana the Band...〉 has since confirmed an official release in theaters on May 20.
Tablo translation comment sparks buzz The teaser poster and trailer released along with the announcement of the release date fully captured the film’s witty comedy. With the unmistakably eccentric looks of Matt and Jay, the comment from singer Tablo—who handled the film’s translation—“While adding subtitles, I thought I was going to die laughing”—keeps the momentum going and heightens audience expectations.
Moon Sang-hoon’s import and official release 〈Nirvana the Band...〉, opening on May 20, is an imported film brought in by Moon Sang-hoon, who runs a team and channel called 'BDNS,' along with Green Narae Media. It will be distributed by Green Narae Media and Red Ice Entertainment.
