The legend returns: "Moving" restarts its ultra-stacked casting lineup

"Moving," the key driving force behind the global box-office craze of "Disney+," has finally raised the anchor for the production of "Season 2." With major stars who helped lead the initial hit returning in full force, it once again sets expectations for an overwhelming acting ensemble.

The global hit phenomenon, "Disney+" original series "Moving," has officially confirmed the making of "Season 2" and has begun full-scale filming. According to an official announcement from "Disney+" on the 18th, this "Season 2" is expected to further expand the massive world established in the previous installment.

All the core leading performers who firmly supported the original storyline—Ryu Seung-ryong, Han Hyo-joo, Jo In-sung, Cha Tae-hyun, Ryu Seung-bum, Go Youn-jung, Kim Do-hoon, and more—are returning without exception. The most notable change is a generational swap for the role of "Bong Seok," the central axis of the drama. Lee Jung-ha, who shone in the previous installment, vacates the role after enlisting in the Marine Corps, and rookie Won Kyu-bin steps in to fill the vacancy.

In addition, a host of new faces are joining to add even more weight to the drama. Renowned actors at the top of their craft in South Korea—including Seol Kyung-gu, Lee Hee-jun, Ryu Hye-young, Roh Yoon-seo, and Kim Sung-kyu—will be introduced as new characters, setting up a tightly wound tension in which not even a second ahead can be predicted.

An expanded world, and an even stronger production team

"Moving" "Season 2" depicts, at a rapid pace, the process of power-users—living ordinary lives after what’s known as the "Jeongwon High Incident"—facing an unknown new threat once again and fighting a life-or-death battle to protect the people they love.

Even the production team has been reshaped to the highest level. The original creator and "Gang Pil" writer who led the success of "Season 1" will once again oversee the script, and the director "Kim Sung-hoon," who proved his overwhelming scale and detailed directing through the Netflix "Kingdom" series and the film "Operation: Untouchable", will now take the megaphone anew.

Upon its first release in 2023, "Moving" took the U.S. Hulu and the Asia-Pacific region of "Disney+" by storm, recording the most viewing time in its first week of unveiling as a Korean original series. World attention is focused on what kind of evolution this masterpiece—one that set unprecedented records—will achieve through the meeting of "Kim Sung-hoon" and writer "Gang Pil."
