A comedy-action film 〈Husbands in Action〉 that depicts a wild rescue plot in which a former husband and a current husband—who end up joining forces almost by accident to save a wife kidnapped by a criminal organization—has unveiled character stills that capture the clashing chemistry of four people who seem absolutely incompatible with one another.

The released stills draw attention with the starkly different personalities and atmospheres of four characters: the former husband Chung-sik (Jin Seon-gyu), the current husband Min-seok (Gong Myung), the head of a new type of drug organization Do-jun (Kim Ji-seok), and Yong-gang (Yoon Kyung-ho), the boss of the Yonggangpa who once helped dominate the drug market in the past. First, in a warehouse setting, former husband Chung-sik holds handcuffs and prepares to capture the suspect. He is an ace detective in the drug squad, taking down criminals with handcuff arrest skills faster than the eye can see. His street-alley appearance—flashing his signature sly killing smile—reveals the human side tucked behind his tough charisma and teases the surprising appeal only Chung-sik can deliver.

Next, Min-seok, the current husband, appears at a dog rescue scene with volunteers. He is a young and handsome veterinarian with a kindhearted personality. His tense expression as he checks the situation from inside a dark vehicle sparks curiosity about how he will perform amid the rescue operation that suddenly bursts in. Wearing a flashy violet suit and standing in a logistics warehouse, Do-jun is the boss of an organization that takes control of the drug market with cutting-edge technology. Even from inside a police car, Do-jun shows unwavering eyes and radiates an overwhelming presence. He looks laid-back and lighthearted on the outside, but he is expected to captivate viewers with another side he shows when it comes to his beloved wife.

Finally, Yong-gang, the boss of the Yonggangpa who was released from prison after 10 years, grabs attention with a heavy charisma that overwhelms his subordinates in the rain. The image of him holding a drink in an unfashionable shirt carries an awkwardly funny vibe—Yong-gang seems to be once again aiming to get his life together while bearing the weight of time—which draws out laughter. As these character stills showcase such distinct personalities, the question of how the four figures—former husbands and current husbands, young-generation and old-generation bosses—will collide in 〈Husbands in Action〉 and create explosive laughs will further whet viewers’ curiosity.

Director Park Gyu-tae said, “〈Husbands in Action〉 adds a showdown between an old-generation drug organization boss and a new-generation boss to the setup of coordination between a former husband and a current husband, building another story of conflict and reconciliation across eras.” The director added that he raised expectations for the synergy these characters will create through their ironic relationships. He also said, “The actors showed nonstop, fun tiki-taka on set with perfect chemistry, and it was a happy set where there were always overflowing ideas, and the laughter never stopped,” expressing confidence in the acting ensemble that the performers with standout presence will deliver. With that, attention is turning to the dream teamwork and explosive synergy that the actors will create as they come together as characters with clearly defined individuality.
