Kang Ki-young made a special appearance in the film 〈Wild Sing〉, which opened on June 3.

〈Wild Sing〉 is a comedy about a once-dominant coed trio called 'Triangle' that disbanded overnight after an unexpected incident and, 20 years later, takes a reckless chance to stage a comeback.

Kang Ki-young appears in a surprise cameo as Na Tae-poong, a member of the dance group 'Megaton'. Na Tae-poong was once Megaton's barely noticed member — so overlooked that former Triangle members Hwang Hyun-woo (Kang Dong-won), Gu Sang-gu (Um Tae-goo) and Byun Do-mi (Park Ji-hyun) would not have recognized him. Twenty years later, he has reinvented himself as a variety-show star and is now the character who has become the most successful.

In the film, Na Tae-poong projects swagger born of old insecurities from his struggling days when he runs into Hwang Hyun-woo again at the TV station. But when Hwang greets him with indifference, Na is thrown off — a reversal that adds a playful note to the story.

With his deadpan expressions and deft comic timing, Kang turns Na into an irritating yet oddly lovable scene-stealer. His performance can be seen in 〈Wild Sing〉, now playing in theaters.
