‘Sana,’ from Twice (TWICE), a group reigning at the very top of the K-pop world, is finally stepping in as the lead of a major motion picture. With a promise of an overwhelming ensemble with Japan’s top actor ‘Takeru Satoh,’ who shook the Japanese archipelago, she is already signaling an unconventional path from her very first screen debut.

Production company NPIO Entertainment on the 9th officially announced the main casting lineup for the co-produced film ‘Cat: Your World, Your Reach,’ a joint production fueled by massive capital and planning from both South Korea and Japan. With the genre-defining appeal of an original fantasy romance centered on a cat, the pairing of two superstars spanning across Asia has already concentrated extraordinary attention inside and outside the film industry.

Taking on her life’s first acting assignment through this global project, ‘Sana’ splits into the role of the protagonist ‘Nao,’ whose bright cheerfulness and purity stand out, and projects her many charms onto the screen. Her counterpart, ‘Tamaki,’ the one who will touch her world, will be played by ‘Takeru Satoh,’ who holds an overwhelming fandom domestically and abroad thanks to Netflix mega-hit ‘First Love Hatsukoi,’ and is expected to present the essence of deep melodrama acting.

The addition of top-tier production staff who ensure credibility is also a point that raises expectations for the film’s completion. ‘Hyeok-chan Kwon,’ who proved a smooth, stylish mise-en-scene as a key figure in the tvN syndrome hits ‘Goblin’ and ‘Boyfriend,’ took the director’s helm as executive director. In addition, ‘Jung-dae Nam,’ recognized for outstanding storytelling capabilities through films ‘Gibang Doryeong’ and the drama ‘Kim Bu-jang,’ wrote the script and further increased the density of the narrative.
