'David' Unveils OST Video for Park Bo-gum, Cha Ji-yeon Duet 'My Lord'

The animated film 〈David〉, which opened last on the 10th, is now in theaters.

The animated film 〈David〉 unveiled a music video on the 14th for 'My Lord (Why God My God),' a duet sung by lead actors Park Bo-gum and Cha Ji-yeon.

The newly released music video portrays David's despair after the prophet Samuel chooses him and he flees into the wilderness to escape King Saul's frenzied jealousy, and it shows the devotion of his mother, Nitzevet, who keeps him from losing hope. The video is staged so the two actors' emotions unfold like a real conversation.

Park Bo-gum, who voices the adult David, powerfully conveys the anxiety and loneliness of a character left alone under threat. Cha Ji-yeon, in the role of David's mother Nitzevet, delivers a stirring performance, using her rich voice to convey unwavering faith in the face of despair and to lift her son's spirits. Cha Ji-yeon, who participated in the vocal recording, said the song is especially moving because it fully captures a mother's love, adding that she has deep affection for the film.

The film 〈David〉 is a feature-length animated retelling of how David, once an ordinary shepherd boy, defeats the giant Goliath feared by all and later faces his destiny as king. It was co-directed by Phil Cunningham and Brent Doss, and the Korean-dubbed version features veteran voice actors including Park Bo-gum, Cha Ji-yeon, Jang Gwang, Song Jun-seok and Si Young-jun. The film 〈David〉, which opened last on the 10th, is currently playing in theaters.
