Yeon Sang-ho, Hirokazu Kore-eda to Hold Conversation at Toronto Film Festival

Yeon Sang-ho, whose film 〈PARADISE LOST〉 (PARADISE LOST) has been invited to the Special Presentation section of the 51st Toronto International Film Festival, will take part in a TIFF Summit: Dialogues conversation with Japanese filmmaker Hirokazu Kore-eda at 4 p.m. local time on Sept. 14, CJ ENM and WOWPOINT said Aug. 24.

"TIFF Summit: Dialogues" brings together global creators and industry figures during the festival for in-depth conversations about storytelling, the art of filmmaking, and the creative process. In this session, director Yeon Sang-ho will discuss his creative universe and genre-driven imagination, his creative process, adapting and expanding intellectual property, and the global expansion of Asian cinema.

Yeon Sang-ho's new film 〈PARADISE LOST〉 is a psychological thriller that centers on Ryu So-young (played by Kim Hyun-joo), a mother who lost her son nine years earlier in an incident involving a Camping School bus, and the events that unfold when her son, Ryu Seon-woo (played by Bae Hyun-sung), whom she believed to be dead, returns. The screenplay was written by Yeon Sang-ho and writer Ryu Yong-jae, and the film is based on the novel 「Black Inferno」.

Earlier this year, Yeon Sang-ho's film 〈GUNCHE〉 was invited to the Midnight Screening section of the 79th Cannes Film Festival. He has now been invited to the Toronto International Film Festival for a second consecutive year with 〈PARADISE LOST〉, which is set for its world premiere.

Yeon Sang-ho's new film 〈PARADISE LOST〉, starring Kim Hyun-joo and Bae Hyun-sung, is scheduled to be released in theaters this October.
