Han So-hee says Choi Min-sik even requested a private set for her in 〈Intern〉 interview

Han So-hee said she was moved by the consideration of the much more senior actor Choi Min-sik, saying he "even requested a private set for me" so she could focus on an emotional scene while filming 〈Intern〉.

With the film 〈Intern〉 set to open on September 16, Han So-hee met with Cineplay on the morning of the 8th at a location in Jongno District, Seoul, for a release interview. 〈Intern〉 follows office life across generations and ranks after Ki-ho (Choi Min-sik), a silver intern with 37 years of career experience, joins the company of Seon-woo (Han So-hee), a fashion-industry dark horse who rose rapidly within three years of launching. The film is based on a Hollywood film of the same title.

Han recalled the izakaya scene late in the film, where the character's emotions boil over, and expressed deep gratitude for Choi Min-sik's thoughtfulness. To ensure she could focus fully on the scene without distractions, Choi specifically asked the production to build a private set for her. During filming, he unexpectedly threw out the line "Pull yourself together" first, unlike in the script, helping her draw out genuine emotions as both Seon-woo and Han So-hee.

Han also mentioned Choi's devoted attitude on set, saying, "He always arrives two hours early, and even when it's not his scene he stays quietly behind the monitor." Rather than throwing his weight around, he would crack jokes and put everyone at ease on set. Han said, "He felt like a great mountain I could never dare overcome, and at times it even left me feeling inadequate," adding that she was deeply moved.

The film 〈Intern〉 opens on September 16.
