‘Mother Mary’ Star Anne Hathaway Transforms Into Pop Icon in First Stills and Trailer

〈Mother Mary〉, a film showcasing Anne Hathaway’s commanding presence, has released its first stills and trailer.

The film 〈Mother Mary〉 released stills and a trailer on Oct. 2, offering an early look at the movie. It follows pop icon Mother Mary (Anne Hathaway) through a strange day after she seeks out Sam (Michaela Coel), a designer and friend she abandoned years earlier, in preparation for her comeback.

The released stills capture Mother Mary’s dazzling performances, as well as her imposing presence backstage, where the mood is markedly darker. They also hint at the subtle tension between Sam and Mother Mary and depict nightmarish landscapes that appear to come from Sam’s perspective, raising questions about the story. The trailer shows Mother Mary and Sam exchanging serious questions, further fueling curiosity.

〈Mother Mary〉 is the latest film from director David Lowery, who previously directed 〈The Green Knight〉. It will open in theaters in November.
