Boy group KEYVITUP has officially apologized for causing a noise disturbance while filming a music video near a residential neighborhood late at night.

According to the Incheon Michuhol Police Station and the group’s agency, iNKODE Entertainment, a resident called 112 at around 3:20 a.m. on the 30th of last month to report that “the noise from the music video shoot is excessive.” KEYVITUP was filming a new song’s music video near Jemulpo Market in Sungui-dong, Michuhol-gu, Incheon, ahead of its comeback in November. The shoot ended shortly after police arrived.

The incident came to light after Person A, who identified themselves as a resident near the market, posted a video of the scene on social media. “They were filming with speakers until dawn, but there was no advance notice about the shoot or any request for understanding,” the poster wrote. “Even after filming ended, the staff greeted one another and shouted in celebration. Filming isn’t a position of privilege, so please know where to draw the line.” The video showed people running under bright lights, along with loud music and chants over a loudspeaker, drawing criticism.

As the controversy grew, iNKODE posted an apology on the group’s official fan community and moved to contain the fallout. “We sincerely apologize to the residents who were inconvenienced and affected by the noise from the shoot during hours when you should have been enjoying a peaceful night,” the agency said. “We failed to fully consider the impact that filming late into the night could have on residents’ daily lives.” It added, “We will visit the residents who were inconvenienced in person and faithfully carry out follow-up measures with a responsible attitude.” The agency also promised to strengthen advance checks and on-site noise management to prevent a recurrence.

Meanwhile, KEYVITUP is the first five-member boy group launched by iNKODE Entertainment, founded by singer Kim Jae-joong. The group officially debuted in the music industry in April this year.
