The Netflix series 〈Solo Leveling〉 follows Sung Jin-woo, an E-rank hunter considered the weakest among the hunters who protect the real world from monsters beyond the gates, as he awakens in the face of death and levels up into the strongest hunter capable of saving the world. The series has unveiled an even more powerful cast lineup.

〈Solo Leveling〉 (original work: D&C Media), a legendary global IP that began as a web novel before expanding into a webtoon, anime and game, has earned fans around the world. Now being adapted as a live-action Netflix series, it is embarking on a new chapter in its legendary journey. The series announced the casting of Han So-hee, Kang You-seok, Lee Sung-min, Sung Joon and Jung Ji-hoon, names that are set to maximize fans' curiosity and imagination. 〈Solo Leveling〉 has already generated anticipation with its unique visual appeal and original story, including vividly realized characters, dynamic action, strange yet compelling quests, dungeons on a scale beyond imagination and the overwhelming visuals of its monsters. The global excitement surrounding the ensemble joining the series is leveling up as well.

Cha Hae-in, the ninth S-rank hunter in South Korea and its only female S-rank hunter, is played by Han So-hee. Known for her signature longsword, Cha Hae-in is brought to life by an actor whose strong resemblance to the character makes it difficult to imagine anyone else in the role. Han So-hee's action work, proven in the Netflix series 〈My Name〉 and 〈Gyeongseong Creature〉, further raises expectations for her portrayal of Cha Hae-in. Yoo Jin-ho, the second son of the Yoojin Group who joins Sung Jin-woo on dungeon quests and comes to follow and help him like an older brother, is played by Kang You-seok. He has delivered memorable performances with an approachable, human appeal in the Netflix series 〈When Life Gives You Tangerines〉 and the drama [Resident Playbook]. Woo Jin-chul, an A-rank hunter who heads the Hunter Association's surveillance division, monitors and tracks the hunters' activities and is the first to suspect that Sung Jin-woo has awakened again. Sung Joon takes the role. His transformation is intriguing after his performances as a vicious villain in the drama [The Fiery Priest 2] and as Gungtan, a half-human, half-demon character, in [Island].

The presence of Lee Sung-min and Jung Ji-hoon, who have joined the cast in special appearances, also adds credibility and anticipation to 〈Solo Leveling〉. Go Gun-hee, the chairman of the Hunter Association, oversees all hunters in South Korea, including their guilds, and can mobilize hunters in an emergency. A retired hunter who once reached the highest level, he is played by Lee Sung-min. After taking on a range of characters, from a powerless family man out of work in the film 〈No Other Choice〉 to a principled general in 〈12.12: The Day〉, Lee Sung-min showed the meaning of being a true adult as Education Minister Choi Kang-seok, a steadfast pillar of the Office for the Protection of Teachers' Rights, in the Netflix series 〈The Art of Negotiation〉. Those performances have heightened expectations for the weight and presence he will bring to the role. Baek Yoon-ho, the head of the Baekho Guild, ranked No. 2 among the five major hunter guilds, is an S-rank hunter who can transform into a magical beast. Jung Ji-hoon, who left a strong impression with his ruthless action and transformation into a vicious villain in Season 2 of the Netflix series 〈Bloodhounds〉, will play the role and provide a strong pillar for this intriguing ensemble.

Meanwhile, director Han Dong-wook has joined 〈Solo Leveling〉 as a co-director. Han Dong-wook made his debut with the film 〈Man in Love〉 and previously won the directing award in the television category at the 60th Baeksang Arts Awards for [The Worst of Evil], a noir series that depicted a rich and intense world through powerful action and an impressive ensemble of diverse characters. Reuniting with Sanai Pictures and Kakao Entertainment, which are producing the series, Han is expected to deliver an even more polished 〈Solo Leveling〉 with stronger action and a solid story. With an expanded universe and more powerful action and fantasy, 〈Solo Leveling〉 has raised expectations even further by adding not only Byun Woo-seok as Sung Jin-woo, Han So-hee as Cha Hae-in, Kang You-seok as Yoo Jin-ho and Sung Joon as Woo Jin-chul, but also special appearances by Lee Sung-min as Go Gun-hee and Jung Ji-hoon as Baek Yoon-ho. The series will be available exclusively on Netflix.
