Unique urban night experiences paired with city views, and a boost for local businesses
The festival’s signature program is ‘Namsan Campnic,’ where visitors can watch performances and films while taking in the nighttime scenery. Participation is limited to as many as 100 groups a day to ensure a comfortable setting. Visitors can set up tents or spread out mats on the lawn at Baekbeom Square and enjoy performances and films alongside Namsan’s sunset. The festival will also set up a separate delivery zone in the courtyard of Hohyeondang, allowing participants to easily order and enjoy a variety of dishes from nearby restaurants.
The ‘Autumn Foliage Walk,’ a night trekking program offering views of fall foliage and dazzling city lights, is also expected to draw attention. The route starts at Namsan Yejang Park and passes N Seoul Tower and Namsan Library before ending at Namsangol Hanok Village. Participants who complete the course will receive a special souvenir, while a variety of street performances will take place along the route to heighten the autumn atmosphere. ‘Seoul Metropolitan Government’ plans to set the trek’s finish points in major commercial districts, including Haebangchon, Itaewon, Chungmuro and Euljiro, to encourage participants to spend money at local businesses.
The festival will also feature ‘Namsan Palgak Club,’ a silent DJ party designed around trends among younger generations. Participants can listen to music through wireless headphones and dance freely, enjoying the festival’s energy without creating nighttime noise pollution.
All programs require advance reservations through Naver Booking, and a deposit system will be introduced to prevent no-shows. Detailed schedules and information about each program are available on the festival’s official website, namsannightfestival.com.
Kim Young-hwan, ‘Seoul Metropolitan Government’s’ director of the Garden City Bureau, said, “We will operate the festival safely and substantively so it can provide residents with a special break from their daily routines while bringing vitality to nearby businesses.”
