Global K-pop chart reaches 140 countries with proprietary ranking system

Seok Matthew, a member of the group 'ZEROBASEONE' (ZEROBASEONE), will host a new K-pop music show broadcast to 140 countries worldwide.

'Arirang TV' said it has launched a global music program, 'Show K-Pop' (Show K-Pop), and selected 'Seok Matthew' as its sole host. The Canadian-born 'Seok Matthew' is expected to deliver a smooth presentation for viewers around the world, drawing on his fluent English and strong ability to connect with global fans.

The newly launched 'Show K-Pop' goes beyond a conventional music show with a proprietary chart system designed to accurately reflect the interests of K-pop fans worldwide. The rankings combine global music streaming (40%), global album sales (10%), social media (10%), broadcast points (10%) and preregistration votes (15%) to narrow the field to two finalists. The final winner is then determined by adding live voting results (15%) collected during the broadcast.

The show's diversified distribution network is designed to maximize access for global fans. In addition to a live broadcast on the 'Arirang TV' channel, the program will also stream in real time on the global short-form video platform 'TikTok' (TikTok), aiming to reach viewers worldwide who are accustomed to watching content on mobile devices.

The first episode of 'Show K-Pop', hosted by 'Seok Matthew', will premiere on the 19th at 6 p.m.
