New tvN Monday-Tuesday drama ‘My Guilty Human’, starring actors Lim Si-wan and Seol In-ah, got off to a strong start, posting ratings in the 5% range during its first week on air.

According to ratings research firm Nielsen Korea, Episode 1 of ‘My Guilty Human’, which aired the previous day, recorded a 5.6% rating among households nationwide. The result is attributed to its solid storyline and the cast’s strong performances.

The premiere introduced Yoon Yi-jun (played by Lim Si-wan), the Taegang Group heir and prime suspect in the murder of a secretary, and Kang Jae-hee (played by Seol In-ah), a passionate detective determined to uncover the truth. When the investigation was at risk of being shut down because of improper interference from higher-ups, Kang Jae-hee made the bold decision to disguise herself as a man and go undercover as Yoon Yi-jun’s personal secretary.

The episode built suspense with a life-or-death crisis in which Kang Jae-hee’s identity was in danger of being exposed on her very first day at work. The story closely followed how the ‘murder suspect’ and the ‘detective’ became entangled in the unusual relationship of employer and personal secretary.

Based on the popular web novel ‘Why Don’t You Know It’s a Girl?’, the series maximizes the appeal of its genre-blending mix of thriller and romance. The two leads’ strong on-screen chemistry, combined with the brisk direction, has raised expectations for ratings to climb in the coming weeks.
