Director Jung Yu-mi meets the Seoul International Women's Film Festival. The 27th Seoul International Women's Film Festival, held from August 21 to 27 at Megabox Sinchon, has unveiled its official poster along with this year's official slogan 'Reimagining F.' The slogan 'Reimagining F' for the 27th Seoul International Women's Film Festival expands the meaning of 'F' from Film, Festival, Female to Freedom, Feminism, Fellowship, and Future, proposing an expansion of values and sensibilities that encompass gender and identity, diversity, and minority beyond biological distinctions. The Seoul International Women's Film Festival aims to create a festival where creators, audiences, and all participants face and imagine each other's worlds with their own sensibilities, and connect diverse voices and solidarity.

The poster for the 27th festival is directed by Jung Yu-mi, a notable figure in the Korean animation industry. Director Jung has recently gained attention both domestically and internationally by being invited to the short film competition section of the Cannes Film Festival Critics' Week with her short animation <Glasses> (2025), marking a first for Korean animation. This collaboration with Director Jung Yu-mi is a special attempt that intersects the values the Seoul International Women's Film Festival has pursued for a long time and her unique visual language. Through the sensibilities of contemporary female creators, the festival visually expresses the message of solidarity and imagination it aims for, and this work can be considered a new piece completed by Director Jung Yu-mi for the '27th Seoul International Women's Film Festival.'

The official poster embodies this flow of imagination in its imagery. The first image captures a gaze peering through the gaps of blooming flowers. This is inspired by a painting of Saint Lucia by Francesco del Cossa, symbolically expressing the sense of gazing where the inside and outside overlap. The gaze, as if looking through a telescope or glasses, serves as a starting point for imagining 'F.' The second image visualizes the changing phases of the moon, depicting an inner flow where emotions and thoughts arise and disappear, not fixed but cyclical. Both posters capture the sense of change and expansion through organic elements of plants and the moon, expressing the festival's aim of 'imagination beyond boundaries.'
Director Jung Yu-mi stated about this work, "The moment a new perspective opens beyond familiar frameworks, what we face is a multi-layered and living 'F,'" expressing her desire to imagine an experience where various sensibilities connect through the festival. After majoring in fine arts, Director Jung studied animation at the Korean Academy of Film Arts and debuted with <My Little Doll Box> (2006). <Dust Eye> (2009) was invited to the Cannes Film Festival Directors' Fortnight, and subsequently <Math Test> (2010), <Love Play> (2012), <House of Existence> (2022), and <Circle> (2024) were selected for the short film competition section of the Berlin International Film Festival. <Love Play> was the first Korean animation to win the Grand Prix (Best Film) at the Zagreb International Animation Festival. Her new work <Glasses> (2025) was invited to the short film competition section of the Cannes Film Festival, showcasing new possibilities for domestic animation. The 27th Seoul International Women's Film Festival, a festival that faces and imagines each other's worlds and connects diverse voices and solidarity, will be held for seven days from August 21 (Thursday) to August 27 (Wednesday), 2025, at Megabox Sinchon.
