The highest-grossing Korean film of the first half of this year, 〈Yadang〉, will be re-released as an extended version 〈Yadang: Extended Cut〉 with approximately 15 minutes of deleted footage added. The extended version of 〈Yadang〉, titled 〈Yadang: Extended Cut〉, is a crime action film that unfolds with different objectives among the 'Prosecutor' (Yoo Hae-jin) aiming to rise higher using the Korean drug scene as a stepping stone, the broker 'Yadang' (Kang Ha-neul) shaking up drug investigations, and the 'Detective' (Park Hae-joon) who is committed to eradicating drug crimes. The film 〈Yadang〉, which premiered on April 16, attracted 3.37 million viewers with explosive performances from the cast, a storyline reflecting social realities, and a thrilling, fast-paced narrative. It was the number one film among adult-only releases after COVID-19.

Thanks to the enthusiastic support, 〈Yadang: Extended Cut〉 will be released with an expanded story that embodies director Hwang Byeong-guk's intention to "shift the perspective from Lee Gang-soo (Kang Ha-neul) to Prosecutor Koo Kwan-hee (Yoo Hae-jin) to highlight the desire for power and downfall more strongly." In particular, it will offer a different new experience from the existing version through an unusual opening starting from Koo Kwan-hee's perspective and approximately 15 minutes of additional footage that reinforces each character's narrative.
