34th Busan Film Awards to be Held on September 18, Voting for Star of the Year Begins!

The 34th Busan Film Awards will be held on September 18 (Thursday) at 5 PM at the Grand Ballroom of Signiel Busan in Haeundae District, Busan, along with the announcement of this year's nominees and posters. Established in 1958, the Busan Film Awards is the first film award in Korea that led the golden age of Korean cinema in the 1960s. After resuming in 2008, it has continued for 18 years, maintaining the tradition and authority of the first film award in Korea. This has drawn attention as the final nominees for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, and Best Newcomer, selected through fierce competition and consensus among judges, are revealed, and voting for the Star of the Year begins. Director Woo Min-ho's 'Harbin' has received the most nominations in 7 categories, while Director Oh Jung-min's 'Jangson' and Director Kim Sang-man and Park Chan-wook's 'Jeon, Ran' are leading the fierce competition with 6 nominations each.

Meanwhile, the voting for the 'Star of the Year' award, which determines the winners by combining votes from the audience and members of film organizations, will start on the 24th. The voting for the 'Star of the Year' award, which has the main lead and supporting actors of the shortlisted films as candidates, can be participated through the link on the official Busan Film Awards website until July 31 (Thursday). You can select one person each from the male and female categories, and each person can vote once a day, with multiple participations allowed within the period. The winners (works) in the total of 16 categories of the 34th Busan Film Awards will be announced through a live broadcast of the Busan Film Awards ceremony, which will be simultaneously streamed on Naver TV and YouTube on September 18 (Thursday) at 5 PM.
