Actor Song Young-kyu Found Dead in Vehicle...Police Investigation Underway

Actor Song Young-kyu, who gained public attention for his role as Chief Choi in the movie 'Extreme Job', was found dead in a vehicle in a residential area in Cheoin-gu, Yongin, and the police have launched an investigation.

According to the Yongin Dongbu Police Station, Song was discovered dead in the vehicle around 8 a.m. on the 4th following a report from an acquaintance. No evidence supporting foul play was found at the scene, and no suicide note was confirmed.

The police stated that they plan to thoroughly investigate the circumstances surrounding Song's death with the bereaved family.

Meanwhile, Song was previously caught driving under the influence on June 19 in Yongin, where he was transferred to the prosecution. This fact became known later, leading to controversy as he stepped down from the projects he was involved in.

Debuting in 1994 with the children's musical 'Mertel Dosa', Song Young-kyu has been actively involved in various fields including film, drama, and theater. He left a strong impression as Chief Choi in the 2019 film 'Extreme Job' and showcased his outstanding acting skills in the OTT dramas 'Suriname' (2022) and 'Casino' (2022).
