BTS member Jungkook's solo hit song 'Seven' has recorded 2.5 billion streams on Spotify, the world's largest music platform, making it the first K-Pop single to achieve this milestone, as announced by his agency Big Hit Music on the 21st.

Released in July 2023, 'Seven' surpassed 2.5 billion cumulative plays as of the 18th, setting a new benchmark. This is considered an unprecedented achievement for a K-Pop single.

'Seven' is a song that harmoniously blends an addictive melody with warm acoustic guitar and UK garage genre rhythms. This serenade expresses the desire to be with a loved one throughout the week and has resonated globally since its release.

The commercial success of the song is also proven by its chart performance. 'Seven' topped the Billboard Hot 100, the main singles chart in the United States, as well as the Billboard Global 200 and Global (excluding the U.S.) charts. Notably, it set a record by achieving 1 billion streams on Spotify in just 108 days, the fastest in history.

'Seven' was selected as the most popular song in over 200 countries, excluding the U.S., in Billboard's '2024 International Power Players' announced last year. It has remained on the Billboard Global 200 for 108 weeks and on the Global (excluding the U.S.) for 109 weeks, continuing its long run for over two years.

Jungkook's overall achievements in his solo activities are also noteworthy. The cumulative streams of all his solo songs released so far exceed 9.4 billion, the highest record among K-Pop solo artists. His first solo album 'Golden', released in November 2023, is expected to break another record as it approaches 6 billion cumulative plays.
