'25th Comeback' AB6IX Reveals Q&A to Celebrate Comeback

The group AB6IX shared their thoughts on releasing their 10TH EP ‘UPSIDE DOWN’.

AB6IX (Jeon Woong, Kim Dong-hyun, Park Woo-jin, Lee Dae-hwi)'s 10TH EP ‘UPSIDE DOWN’ contains AB6IX's clear determination to break the existing frame and turn the world upside down with their own new perspective and music. The title track ‘STUPID’ is a pop dance song that expresses the inner cry blooming from neglected wounds with a lively rock sound, with member Lee Dae-hwi participating in the lyrics and composition, and Park Woo-jin contributing to the lyrics to enhance its completeness.

In addition, this new release from AB6IX includes a total of 6 songs across various genres such as hip-hop, rock, pop, and fan songs, including ‘Square Up’, ‘Friday Trouble’, ‘A Million Dreams’, ‘You Are in My Plans’, and the CD Only track ‘Beautiful’.

Having passed their 6th debut anniversary, AB6IX returned as a more solid and mature ‘artist’ and shared their thoughts on this album ‘UPSIDE DOWN’ through a Q&A.

Q. Please share your thoughts on your comeback.

Jeon Woong: It feels like time has flown by since this is already our tenth EP. As it is the tenth, we will show you an even more grown-up version of AB6IX!

Kim Dong-hyun: I feel a bit nervous since it’s been a while since our last comeback, but I’m also excited to present a great stage and songs to our fans!

Park Woo-jin: It’s been a long time since our last comeback, and I want to thank the fans for waiting, and we will show you a great performance as a reward for your patience.

Lee Dae-hwi: Finally, we are making a comeback. We had planned to do it earlier, but it seems to have been delayed while waiting for better songs. I am so grateful and excited to meet the fans again after a long time.

Q. What kind of song is the title track ‘STUPID’?

Lee Dae-hwi: It’s a dance song with a band sound that goes well with a fresh summer night. I hope the relatable lyrics provide comfort to those who listen.

Q. Please explain the performance highlights of ‘STUPID’.

Park Woo-jin: I think the point of this performance, which has a popular feel, is that everyone can enjoy it comfortably and happily. I believe you will see various sides and charms of the members through this stage!

Q. ‘STUPID’ conveys a message of empathy and comfort to those who are hurt. Do you have any personal tips for overcoming pain?

Kim Dong-hyun: If you’ve made a mistake, acknowledge it and let it go, and if it’s an unfair situation, I think it’s important to address it clearly and overcome it.

Q. It has been revealed that the members participated directly in the lyrics, composition, and album production, enhancing the album's completeness. What was the most focused aspect of this album?

Jeon Woong: Since ‘STUPID’ is a refreshing and exciting song, we tried to make the choreography even more fun and lively!

Kim Dong-hyun: We recorded each song with more affection than ever and prepared the stage.

Park Woo-jin: As always, we did our best for those who listen, and I tried to express what’s in my heart to connect more emotionally.

Lee Dae-hwi: The aspect I focused on the most in the album is, of course, the music. Since everything starts from music, I strongly believed that the music must be good. I am confident that this album contains songs with various charms.

Q. Is there a particular song from the 10TH EP ‘UPSIDE DOWN’ that you feel attached to, and what are the listening points for that song?

Jeon Woong: The fifth track ‘You Are in My Plans’ is a song I wrote and composed. I have worked on many songs so far, but after finishing this one, I felt, ‘I made it well!’ and I remember feeling proud. It’s a song I feel very attached to, so I hope it receives a lot of love.

Lee Dae-hwi: While I obviously have affection for the title track, I feel most attached to the sixth track ‘Beautiful’ because it seems like a song that will remain in the memories of our fans and us for a long time. I hope that when we listen to it in the distant future, it will remind us of this activity.

Q. After actively engaging in various solo activities, you are now presenting group activities after about 10 months. Was there a special episode or memorable moment during the album preparation process?

Kim Dong-hyun: It was interesting to try a new approach for the music video shoot, which was different from before, and we had fun filming it.

Park Woo-jin: There weren’t any big episodes, but it felt more familiar and comfortable than solo activities, so it seemed to flow naturally as we always do.

Q. What kind of image of AB6IX do you want to show through this album?

Jeon Woong: We have handled various concepts, but I want to enjoy the stage so that people can say, “AB6IX is refreshing after all.”

Q. Please say a word to the fans (ABNEW) who love AB6IX.

Jeon Woong: ABNEW! We have finally made our comeback. We have returned with an album packed with 6 songs for the ABNEW who have waited a long time! I hope you listen to our album ‘UPSIDE DOWN’ and have a cool summer! Thank you and we love you for this activity❤️
