〈Adolescence〉 won 6 awards including Outstanding Limited Series, Directing, Writing, Lead Actor, Supporting Actress, and Supporting Actor at the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards in 2025, and achieved a total of 8 awards including the Creative Arts category. In particular, 15-year-old Owen Cooper, who played the lead role of Jamie Miller, was recorded as the youngest male acting award winner in Emmy history.

Owen Cooper, who debuted in 〈Adolescence〉, is set to appear as teenage Heathcliff in Emerald Fennell's new film 〈Wuthering Heights〉. In 〈Adolescence〉, he played a 13-year-old suspect accused of murdering a classmate, showcasing remarkable acting between family, a psychological counselor, and a detective. It is well-known that director Philip Barantini chose him as the lead despite him being a still-young student with no acting experience after watching his first audition tape.

Meanwhile, 〈Adolescence〉 has ranked 4th in the all-time highest viewership for English TV series on Netflix, following 〈Wednesday〉, 〈Stranger Things〉 Season 4, and 〈Dahmer - Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story〉. Since its release on March 13, it has surpassed 〈Bridgerton〉 Season 1 and 〈The Queen's Gambit〉. In the UK, since 2022, the viewing rate has been announced by integrating TV and OTT data through a partnership between the viewing rate research agency BARB (Broadcasters Audience Research Board) and Netflix, and 〈Adolescence〉 became the first streaming service series to rank first in viewership among the top 50 TV programs since the partnership. Recently, with the confirmation of Season 2 production, it has caused quite a political stir in the UK, where the series is set.

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer also directly mentioned 〈Adolescence〉. "Watching this drama with my teenage son and daughter, I was deeply shocked as a father. I empathized with the fears and concerns felt as a parent and an adult," he said, adding, "Even if it feels uncomfortable, if this drama can be watched in schools, it will greatly help in understanding the impact of misogyny, the dangers of online radicalization, and the importance of healthy relationships." Subsequently, Netflix made 〈Adolescence〉 available for free viewing through 'Into Film+', the UK's first film-specific streaming platform designed for school environments in 2021. Prime Minister Keir Starmer expressed support and gratitude for Netflix's decision to cooperate in allowing 〈Adolescence〉 to be viewed in all secondary schools in the UK, inviting writer Jack Thorne and Netflix's Vice President of UK Content Anne Mensah, among others, for a meeting.
