The band Xdinary Heroes (Xdinary Heroes: Gunil, Jungsoo, Gaon, O.de, Jun Han, Juyun) will release their mini album 'LXVE to DEATH' at 1 PM today (24th).
This album includes the title track 'ICU' and the digital single 'FiRE (My Sweet Misery)' released in July, along with a new song 'Lost and Found', totaling 7 tracks. The album name 'LXVE to DEATH' incorporates the group's core symbol 'X' to reinterpret love, starting with the title track 'ICU' inspired by traditional hard rock, and challenges various genres including electronic rock, emphasizing the individuality of all 7 tracks.
Below is the full Q&A shared by Xdinary Heroes through their agency JYP Entertainment to celebrate their comeback.
Q. You are releasing a new mini album 'LXVE to DEATH' following mini album 'Beautiful Mind' and digital single 'FiRE (My Sweet Misery)'. Please share your thoughts on the comeback.
Xdinary Heroes: We are really happy to meet you with our new album 'LXVE to DEATH'. We deeply contemplated the theme of 'love' for the first time and aimed to capture various forms of it. We are really glad to show seven different loves in each track. Since there are multiple perspectives on a single theme, we hope you enjoy the lyrics.
Q. The album name 'LXVE to DEATH' gives a strong impression from the start. Can you tell us why you used 'LXVE' in the album name and what message you want to convey with the new album? Are there any new musical attempts in this album?
Xdinary Heroes: We tried to express love through the 'X', which is the identity and characteristic of Xdinary Heroes. Also, we aimed to show the seven loves we found in different forms through new musical attempts, from songs inspired by traditional hard rock to electronic rock, while leaving room for interpretation in the message.
Q. All members have their names listed in the credits for all tracks in the new album. What is your satisfaction level with the new release and which track do you each like the most?
Gunil: I feel like there’s always a 2% part that needs improvement every time we release an album. My favorite track is 'Lost and Found' because its delicately crafted sound is attractive.
Jungsoo: I also like 'Lost and Found' the most. Although it’s bright, I wanted it to be a song that could bring tears when you read the lyrics. I remember revising the lyrics until the end to enhance its completeness.
Gaon: I am quite satisfied with this album. My favorite track is the first track 'Lost and Found', where I was really surprised by Jun Han's growling. I look forward to his growling skills growing in the future.
O.de: Every time we release an album, I come back with about 98% satisfaction and try to fill the remaining 2%. While practicing, I found the synth fun and catchy, so 'Spoiler!!!' became my favorite track in this album.
Jun Han: I feel about 80% satisfied with this album. I think there are many possibilities left for us to fill in the future. My favorite track is 'ICU'. I enjoyed the process of creating the final chorus line.
Juyun: I feel like there’s always about 5% of regret every time we release an album. I like 'LOVE ME 2 DEATH'. I was worried if we could pull it off, but once it was completed, that concern disappeared.
Q. The previously released love songs like 'Good enough', which sang about the process of reaching out, 'AGAIN? AGAIN!', which talked about the moment of falling in love, 'LOVE and FEAR', which intensely depicted a yearning heart, and 'more than i like', which melted a heart that shrinks in front of love, all have distinct personalities. What did you want to convey with the new album that expresses 'love'?
Xdinary Heroes: We wanted to express honest feelings that are hard to put into words through music. I think the character of each song gives a fresh perspective on love. Each member seemed to have different meanings regarding 'love', so it was fun to think about ways to express it together.
Q. Please introduce the title track 'ICU'. What are the highlights, and if there is something you love to the point of having no regrets, what would it be?
Gunil: The title track is a hard rock style that we are trying for the first time, and the guitar solo is really cool. What I love to the point of having no regrets is our fans, Villains, who love us without hesitation.
Jungsoo: I think it’s the people around me, like my family and fans. I love my people to the point of having no regrets.
Gaon: This title track was made with the intention of jumping around crazily on stage. What I love to the point of having no regrets is probably 'sleep'. (laughs)
O.de: The title track 'ICU' signifies a hot and deep love, and there are fun sections throughout that serve as highlights. What I love to the point of having no regrets are my family and Villains.
Jun Han: 'ICU' is a song that expresses falling in love as a collision. What I love to the point of having no regrets are also Villains and my family!
Juyun: For me, it’s music that I want to do until I die, something I truly love. I also have a dream of happily dying on stage until the end. (laughs)
Q. Since your debut, you have proven your stage capabilities at various festivals. This year, you have shown your presence on significant stages, including your first appearance at the global music festival 'Lollapalooza Chicago', being invited as the opening guest for the global band MUSE's concert, and participating in the '2025 Busan International Rock Festival'. What are your thoughts and what memorable moments do you have?
Gunil: The most memorable moment was during the drum solo at the MUSE opening performance. The cheers from the audience made me really happy.
Jungsoo: I learned how to lead performances through various stage experiences. I found the '2025 Busan International Rock Festival' to be one of the most fun experiences.
Gaon: After doing festivals, I feel like there are still many areas we need to improve. That curiosity drives us to work hard. The MUSE opening performance remains a wonderful memory. Both the stage we presented in front of many audience members and the moments we jumped around as audience members were all happy.
O.de: I felt that if I genuinely immerse myself, the audience also enjoys it fully. The scene during the MUSE opening stage where everyone jumped together during 'MONEYBALL' is still vivid in my memory.
Jun Han: Every stage is memorable. I felt a great sense of gratitude that many people are showing interest in Xdinary Heroes, which gives us a reason to continue working hard for good music.
Juyun: During the MUSE concert opening, there might have been audience members who didn’t know us well. But when we confidently performed, they enjoyed it with us. It became a motivation to work harder on our music in the future.
Q. Following the comeback, the finale performance of the world tour 'Xdinary Heroes World Tour' is scheduled for this November. You have expanded the scale of your performances, starting with the Olympic Hall in Songpa-gu, Seoul, and entering the Handball Stadium and Jamsil Indoor Gymnasium this year. Please share your thoughts on entering Jamsil Indoor Gymnasium and the highlights of the finale performance. Also, what would you say is the unique charm of Xdinary Heroes' stage?
Xdinary Heroes: Since this is the largest stage in our solo concert history, I feel both nervous and excited. I believe the growing concert hall is filled with the heat from our fans every time. The charm of our stage is probably the non-stop running setlist that allows everyone to jump around together and the 'endless energy'. For the finale performance, I want to highlight the new stage we will present while wrapping up what we have done.
Q. While Xdinary Heroes' songs are great to listen to as audio, many praise that their charm is amplified in live performances. Especially, you are captivating Villains with explosive band live performances. Which song from this album are you most looking forward to performing on stage?
Gunil: I think the title track 'ICU' is the most anticipated. Since it has a lot of hot energy, I think the audience will enjoy it.
Jungsoo: The song 'Spoiler!!!', which follows the song 'Money On My Mind' that many people have loved in live performances, is the most anticipated. I think it’s a fun song that everyone can jump around to.
Gaon: 'ICU' and 'Lost and Found' are neck and neck. I expect both to be liked by Villains in different ways.
O.de: I am most looking forward to 'Spoiler!!!' because I really enjoy playing the synth! (laughs)
Jun Han: Since the fun and excitement are the charm of our performances, I expect 'Spoiler!!!' to be enjoyable for both the audience and us.
Juyun: I also want to pick 'Spoiler!!!'. It’s a song made while imagining the stage, so I’m looking forward to it even more.
Q. As we are approaching the end of 2025, how much do you think you have reached the goals you set at the beginning of this year? What is the most memorable moment when looking back at 2025?
Gunil: I think it has been a time of steadily climbing one step at a time. The most memorable moment will be the finale performance of 'Beautiful Mind' with Villains.
Jungsoo: I actually thought this year, 'I want to do my best every moment', and I feel like I have reached that a lot. I want to continue being an artist Jungsoo who never loses my original intention and always works hard.
Gaon: I think I have reached 70% of the goals I set at the beginning of this year. I am having a satisfying year as my goals have changed to even better ones. The most memorable moments this year are the times we toured for the world tour!
O.de: I want to be grateful for everything and do my best in every moment. I think it’s wrapping up as a pretty good year. (laughs) I am also very grateful to have many wonderful people with me. The moments when I looked at countless Villains while performing are beautiful and precious, so they are the most memorable.
Jun Han: This year’s last album is really challenging... I want to do well in the comeback activities and beautifully wrap up the world tour finale performance.
Juyun: I think we are getting closer and closer. I hope more people in the world can be happy and joyful through our music, and I feel like that wish is coming true as we perform more.
Q. Lastly, since this album talks about 'love', if you were to send a word of love to the Villains who always send you so much love and support, what would it be?
Gunil: To our Villains who always give us excessive love and attention. Thanks to you, Xdinary Heroes have been able to grow so much. I will not take the love you give for granted and will repay you with good music and performances. I love you!
Jungsoo: It’s like a tree that gives without holding back. Because there are Villains who love and believe in me no matter what I do, it motivates me to want to continue making music.
Gaon: I’ll be honest. I love you a lot. Haha! Please stay healthy and let’s live together while seeing many good things for a long time!!
O.de: Villains, who make me grateful for everything, thank you so much for always loving us. I will be someone who returns what I receive, no, double it. I believe our love is fully felt. Let’s love each other to the fullest and have fun together as we move forward.
Jun Han: Thank you to the Villains who always give us so much love and attention! I hope it becomes a great reward through music. Let’s continue to share and enjoy life together!
Juyun: I hope everyone can always smile even in tough times!! I love you♡
