All 13 members of the group SEVENTEEN will unveil a special collaboration music video where they transform into the animated characters 'The Smurfs' next month.
The agency PLEDIS Entertainment announced on the 28th, "SEVENTEEN is teaming up with Peyo Company, which holds the rights to The Smurfs, to present collaborative content," and revealed that the special music video is set to be unveiled in November.
The first content of this collaboration is the music video for SEVENTEEN's title track from their 11th mini album, 'The God of Music' Smurf version music video. The birth date of The Smurfs coincides with the release date of this song (October 23), and both pieces were planned based on the shared values of 'teamwork, friendship, and cooperation'.
All 13 members of SEVENTEEN will be reborn as 13 new Smurf characters that incorporate their unique personalities into the distinctive traits of the Smurfs, characterized by blue skin and white hats.
A representative from PLEDIS Entertainment stated, "The lively melody of 'The God of Music' and the members' personalities will harmonize perfectly with the Smurf characters," and hinted that merchandise based on the collaborative characters will also be released in the future.
'The Smurfs' are characters created by Belgian cartoonist Peyo in 1958, loved across generations worldwide. This collaboration is expected to create a powerful synergy between K-pop's 'self-producing idol' SEVENTEEN's global influence and the symbolism of The Smurfs.
SEVENTEEN recently successfully completed their dome tour in Japan and is expected to be active ahead of the year-end awards season. Fans are expressing great anticipation for the new Smurf characters and the 'The God of Music' music video.
