Singer Kangta, SM's New Label 'Smart' General Producer... First Artist is Im Si-wan

Singer Kangta will serve as the general producer of SM Entertainment's new music label 'Smart (SMArt)'.

According to SM Entertainment, Smart aims to encompass a diverse musical spectrum, providing differentiated artwork and optimized producing solutions.

The first artist produced by the label 'Smart' is singer and actor Im Si-wan. Im Si-wan is set to release his first solo album next month and plans to meet fans through a global fan tour early next year.

As a member of H.O.T., Kangta pioneered the first generation of K-pop idols and has been active as a non-registered director and in-house creative director at SM Entertainment since 2014. Additionally, he has demonstrated his capabilities as the general producer of Smash Hit, an in-house company (CIC) of SM's music publishing subsidiary, Creation Music Rights.

SM Entertainment stated, "As the general producer of Smart, Kangta will not only participate in the songwriting of various artists but will also work hard to discover and nurture new writers." They added, "We ask for much anticipation for the musical world that Kangta, who has shown his sincerity towards music for 30 years, will unfold through Smart."
