Co-directed by Kim Sol-hae and Lee Do-jin, 〈Deprivation〉 is generating anticipation as it unveils a main poster and trailer that leave a deep impression ahead of its release.

〈Deprivation〉 realistically captures the daily lives of a couple worn out after a long IVF process, calmly portraying the emotions of 'a heart that must stop' and 'a heart that cannot stop.' Directors Kim Sol-hae and Lee Do-jin meticulously gaze into the inner lives of two characters enduring the weight of life through their first feature 〈Deprivation〉.

Kim Sol-hae and Lee Do-jin are colleagues from the Department of Film Directing at Dankook University Graduate School of Culture and Arts. During the semester, Kim Sol-hae expressed her desire to collaborate with Lee Do-jin, who was developing the script for 〈Deprivation〉. Lee Do-jin stated, "Having experienced infertility for a long time, I wanted to start with a story I know well," adding that 〈Deprivation〉 is "a story about something one desperately longs for but can never have." Kim Sol-hae added, "Everyone has at least one thing they cannot give up," and mentioned that they refined the script together with that emotion at its core.

The newly released main poster captures the attention with the copy, "Can you have it if you want it desperately?" featuring Ji-yeon (Kim Si-eun) standing among people with a vacant expression. This poster visually expresses the longing for a child, depicting how that desire isolates oneself from reality, quietly gazing into the character's inner self with a restrained atmosphere instead of the intensity of emotions, hinting at the deep emotional line the film will convey.

The main trailer released alongside reveals the conflicting emotions towards each other amidst endless attempts and failures, heightening the audience's expectations for the depth of realistic emotions the film will convey. Although it is a short 1 minute and 20 seconds, it captures Ji-yeon's desperation, the silence that permeates the daily lives of Ji-yeon and Do-jin, and their wavering emotions, raising curiosity about where the film will ultimately lead. Having been invited to the Korean Competition section of the 25th Jeonju International Film Festival and awarded the 'Mexican National Cinematheque Release Support Award,' the film 〈Deprivation〉 will be available in theaters nationwide on November 19.
