
Director Jo Hyun-cheol's feature debut 〈You and I〉 was officially released on November 14 (Friday) at PARCO WHITE CINE QUINTO located in Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan. 〈You and I〉 is a highly talked-about film that has left a deep impression at domestic and international film festivals, and it holds significant meaning as the first Korean film imported and distributed by PARCO, a distributor specializing in art films in Japan.



PARCO is a distributor specializing in art films, and their previous work was 'Brutalist'. With this 〈You and I〉, they have officially imported a Korean film for the first time to introduce it to Japanese audiences. The film will first premiere at WHITE CINE QUINTO located on the 8th floor of the PARCO building in Shibuya, and depending on audience reactions, the number of screening locations in Japan will be gradually expanded. On the day before the release, November 13, two stage greetings were held with director Jo Hyun-cheol in attendance. This event, which lasted about 40 minutes each, was the first meeting with Japanese audiences and included a handshake event, concluding successfully amidst the enthusiastic cheers of the packed audience.
The film 〈You and I〉 depicts the story of two high school students, Semi and Ha-eun, who spend a dreamlike day while harboring feelings they want to convey to each other. This is the first feature film written and directed by actor Jo Hyun-cheol, capturing his delicate sensibility and perspective. Director Jo Hyun-cheol's meticulous direction, combined with the passionate performances of actors Park Hye-soo and Kim Si-eun, completed the emotional line of the work. Park Hye-soo has proven her presence by perfectly embodying characters in every work, and rising star Kim Si-eun, who is also the lead in 'Next Sohee', delivered a flawless performance despite 〈You and I〉 being her feature film debut.
