The film 〈Hurdle〉 depicts the story of a girl who becomes the only guardian of her family and faces a daily life shaken between making a living and caregiving, confirming its release on December 3 and unveiling the main trailer.

The film 〈Hurdle〉 tells the story of high school hurdle athlete 'Seoyeon' (Choi Yebin) who dreams of joining a professional hurdle team and becomes the only guardian of her father (Kim Youngjae) who suddenly collapsed due to a stroke, facing a harsh reality. It is the winner of the 2023 Korean Film Council's screenplay contest, and is the feature debut of director Han Sangwook, who has gained experience in various commercial films such as 〈The Way Home〉 (2012) and 〈Tunnel〉 (2015), showcasing meticulous direction and authenticity. The film candidly confronts the harsh reality faced by a young guardian who is not protected, and is expected to leave a deep resonance that will touch the hearts of audiences at the end of this year.

The released main trailer of 〈Hurdle〉 captures the eyes and ears instantly with a calm narration hinting at the future situation, contrasting the energetic running of 'Seoyeon' at the starting signal with the line, "The speed of misfortune overtook me faster than I could jump over the hurdles." The following scenes depict the reality of suddenly taking on the family caregiving alone, and despite that, the dream of joining the professional team gradually crumbles, as 'Seoyeon' desperately appeals, "Everyone calls me my dad's guardian. Then who was supposed to protect me?" This raises curiosity about the unpredictable events that cause her to struggle and the conclusion that 'Seoyeon' will face. In particular, actress Choi Yebin, who left a strong impression by proving her unique presence in the drama [Penthouse], leads the film as the girl 'Seoyeon', a promising high school hurdle athlete who has become the guardian of her guardian, showcasing a remarkable performance as a super rookie in the Korean film industry. Actors Kim Youngjae, who has been loved through [Stranger 2] and [The Youngest Son of a Conglomerate], the promising newcomer Kwon Heesong, and scene-stealer Lee Joongok add depth to the film.

The film 〈Hurdle〉 looks at the realistic issue of the cycle of protection and caregiving in our society with an honest perspective, and will be available in theaters nationwide on December 3.
