Netflix Series 'Chicken Gangjeong' Fails to Win International Emmy Award in Comedy Category

The Netflix series 〈Chicken Gangjeong〉, based on a webtoon, did not achieve the honor of winning at the International Emmy Awards, an American broadcasting awards ceremony.

At the 53rd International Emmy Awards ceremony held in New York, USA, on the 24th (local time), the comedy category trophy went to the BBC drama 〈Ludwig〉. In this competition, Korea's 〈Chicken Gangjeong〉 did not make it to the final list of award winners.

〈Ludwig〉 is a comedy drama that unfolds as a reclusive puzzle maker disguises himself as a police officer in place of his missing twin brother.

〈Chicken Gangjeong〉 was produced based on the Naver webtoon of the same name, featuring actors Ryu Seung-ryong and Ahn Jae-hong in leading roles.

The International Emmy Awards are regarded as one of the top three broadcasting awards in the world, alongside the Banff TV Festival in Canada and the Monte-Carlo TV Festival in Monaco. It targets broadcasting works from countries outside the United States and is a separate ceremony from the American Primetime Emmy Awards.
