The highest-grossing film in October was 〈Boss〉.

The Korean Film Council (hereafter referred to as KOFIC) announced the '2025 October Korean Film Industry Summary' on the 25th. According to the announcement, the total box office revenue for October was 98.2 billion won, with an audience count of 9.83 million. Compared to the same month last year, revenue increased by 59.7% (36.7 billion won) and audience numbers increased by 56.5% (3.55 million), as both Korean films and Japanese animations attracted audiences during the 7-day holiday period from National Foundation Day through the weekend, Chuseok, and Hangeul Day.

The revenue for Korean films in October was 51.4 billion won, with an audience count of 5.27 million, marking increases of 66.9% and 71.7% respectively compared to the previous year. The mid-level commercial films, the comedy 〈Boss〉 and 〈Can't Help It〉, evenly attracted audiences during the holiday period, significantly improving the performance of Korean films compared to October 2024.

The comedy 〈Boss〉, which is based on gangsters, recorded a revenue of 23.1 billion won and an audience count of 2.41 million in October, ranking first in overall box office sales. According to KOFIC, unlike the tradition of Korean blockbusters leading box office sales every Chuseok season, this year, 'mid-level comedy' has taken the top spot during the holiday box office, imprinting the potential of mid-level films in theaters that have been suffering from a decrease in audience numbers.
