KT offers 57% holiday rate discounts, free video calls for four days and 5,000-won Genie TV movie coupons

Chuseok holiday benefits span everything from home entertainment to overseas travel

KT on the 23rd unveiled a broad range of customized customer benefits for the upcoming Chuseok holiday period, covering movies, performances and exhibitions, shopping and overseas travel.

Genie TV, KT's home entertainment platform, will provide buyers of the latest movies with a coupon worth 5,000 won for each title. To mark the re-release of Avengers: Endgame Encore for Marvel fans, the service will operate a Marvel special theater through Sept. 30 and offer about 50 popular films at steep discounts.

The company is also offering a wide range of everyday benefits. KT Membership users can receive shopping and dining discounts at major chains including Lotte Mart, Baemin, BHC and Burger King. For cultural activities, KT is offering discounts of up to 50% on bookings for major performances and exhibitions, including the large-scale musicals Dear Evan Hansen and Gwanghwamun Yeonga.

Travelers heading overseas will receive tailored support as well. KT will offer a 10,000-won airport lounge discount throughout September and is operating a Southeast Asia-specific affordable roaming plan through Oct. 31 to reduce telecommunications costs.

KT's online channel, KT Direct Shop, will provide discounts of up to 57% on service fees and a 50,000-won Naver Pay voucher to customers who sign up as new subscribers or switch their numbers by Sept. 30 and then complete a family bundle.

In addition, KT will waive video-call charges for all customers for four days, from the 24th through the 27th, helping them exchange holiday greetings remotely. Video calls using mobile data and prepaid mobile services are excluded from the free offer.
