Kang Ji-young, "Kim Dae-ho! I didn't know it would go this well"

〈Save Me! Homes〉 Kang Ji-young X Kang Jae-joon, heading out to look for 59㎡ and 84㎡ standard apartments in the metropolitan area!

On the 4th (Thursday), the MBC show ‘Save Me! Homes’ will feature broadcaster Kang Ji-young and comedian Kang Jae-joon as they go on a search for ‘5984’ standard apartments.

This episode will explore the residential market, which has been confused by real estate policies, in search of the 2025 standard apartments. The reason why 84㎡ apartments have been called standard in South Korea is that their structure of 3 rooms and 2 bathrooms is suitable for a family of four, making them highly preferred. However, as the number of one- and two-person households increases, the standard size is reportedly changing to 59㎡. The search for standard apartments in the metropolitan area will be joined by broadcaster Kang Ji-young, comedian Kang Jae-joon, and Yang Se-hyung.

Before the official search begins, Kim Sook introduces Kang Jae-joon and Kang Ji-young, who are appearing in the studio, and mentions their deep connection with the ‘Homes’ coordinators. Kang Jae-joon reveals, “I’m close friends with the Yang Se-brothers. When we meet alone, they are very nice and treat me well, but when the brothers come together, they become devils. If you add Yoo Byung-jae to the mix, it becomes chaos.” In response, Yang Se-chan shouts “Quiet~” at Kang Jae-joon, turning the studio into a sea of laughter.

Kang Jae-joon, who married fellow comedian Lee Eun-hyung and welcomed a son after 7 years, expresses his desire to move to a first floor or piloti apartment as the child grows, citing a lack of storage space. In response, his close friend Yang Se-hyung comments, “This house inevitably lacks storage space. Kang Jae-joon is a maximalist. He has over 100 pairs of running shoes.” When asked if his wife Lee Eun-hyung nags him, he reveals, “Surprisingly, she doesn’t say much. Our shoe sizes and clothing sizes are the same, so we can share.”

Kang Ji-young, who is appearing alongside him, introduces herself by saying, “I have been friends with Kim Dae-ho since the 2011 announcer audition ‘New Employee’ and we are both free agents in 2025.” When asked if she thought Kim Dae-ho would do well during the audition, she sharply replies, “No,” and when asked if he is doing well after declaring himself a free agent, she retorts, “Is he doing too well?” causing the studio to heat up.

Kang Ji-young, Kang Jae-joon, and Yang Se-hyung head to Jagok-dong in Gangnam-gu, Seoul. Yang Se-hyung introduces Jagok-dong as a neighborhood in Gangnam-gu where nature and the city harmoniously coexist. The first standard apartment they will visit is an urban-type housing unit with a dedicated area of 59㎡, currently occupied by newlyweds.

The interior is decorated in a clean white tone, filled with romantic items for newlyweds. While exploring the house, Kang Ji-young says, “My newlywed dream was to have a beer with my husband after work.” Kang Jae-joon adds, “The only joy after marriage was having beer with my wife. I ended up gaining weight up to 120㎏.” Yang Se-hyung looks at the two with envy, imagining their newlywed life.
