Moon So-ri Hosts the '2025 Women Filmmakers Festival'... Confirmed for December 16

A meaningful event will be held to highlight the women filmmakers who have shone in the Korean film industry over the past year. The '2025 Women Filmmakers Festival', hosted by the Women Filmmakers Association, will take place on December 16 (Tuesday) at 7 PM at Indie Space in Mapo-gu, Seoul.

Celebrating its 26th anniversary this year, the 'Women Filmmakers Festival' will unfold as a festival to wrap up the year, including the 'Women Filmmaker of the Year' award, the only women filmmakers awards ceremony in the country. Notably, actress Moon So-ri will host this awards ceremony, adding significance and dignity to the event. As a prominent figure who has led the advancement and solidarity of women filmmakers both inside and outside the film industry, there are high expectations for her hosting.

The award categories for the 'Women Filmmaker of the Year' include the highest honor, 'Women Filmmaker of the Year', as well as the Achievement Award, the Kang Soo-yeon Award in memory of the late actress Kang Soo-yeon, Producer Award, Director Award, Screenplay Award, Acting Award, Newcomer Acting Award, Documentary Award, Technical Award, and New Director Award, totaling 11 categories. The winners will be selected by the 'Women Filmmaker of the Year' selection committee of the 2025 Women Filmmakers Festival, based on theatrical releases and OTT original films from November 1, 2024, to October 31, 2025. Among these, the Acting Award and Newcomer Acting Award will be selected by combining the opinions of members of the Women Filmmakers Association, composed of active women filmmakers, and the final selection committee. The winners in each category and the top-performing women filmmakers of 2025 will be announced soon.

Meanwhile, the '2025 Women Filmmakers Festival' will be held at Indie Space at 7 PM on December 16.
