Original Avengers stars Evans and Hemsworth set to meet Korean fans during official promotional visit
Key figures from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) are returning to Korea. Distributor The Walt Disney Company Korea officially announced that Hollywood stars Chris Evans and Chris Hemsworth will visit Korea on Dec. 7 ahead of the release of 'Avengers: Doomsday.'
Evans has been a leading figure in the franchise, playing Steve Rogers, the first Captain America and one of Marvel's most iconic heroes, from 'Captain America: The First Avenger' (2011) through 'Avengers: Endgame' (2019). He also forged a special connection with Korean audiences through director Bong Joon Ho's 'Snowpiercer' (2013). He is making his first official visit to Korea in 11 years, since promoting 'Avengers: Age of Ultron' in 2015.
Hemsworth, who has anchored the series as Thor, the God of Thunder, is also drawing keen anticipation. He made an unofficial visit to Korea last year to film Season 2 of the Disney+ original documentary series 'Limitless with Chris Hemsworth,' but this will be his first time meeting Korean audiences as part of an official promotional visit.
Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios and the architect and executive producer of the MCU, will accompany them. They plan to attend official press events and red-carpet events on Dec. 7 and 8, meeting Korean media and fans in turn.

Russo brothers return to direct; Downey Jr. makes a splash as villain Doctor Doom
'Avengers: Doomsday' tells the epic story of the Avengers, a superhero alliance that reunites to face Doctor Doom, an all-powerful villain threatening the entire universe. The film is the first numbered sequel in seven years, following 'Avengers: Endgame,' and the Russo brothers, Anthony and Joe, who helmed the franchise's mega-hit installments, are back in the director's chairs.
The most talked-about casting news is the surprise addition of Robert Downey Jr., who helped build the MCU's legacy as Iron Man, Tony Stark, in the role of its main villain, Doctor Doom. He joins a formidable lineup that brings together Avengers past and present, led by Evans and Hemsworth and including Anthony Mackie as the current Captain America, Sam Wilson.
'Avengers: Doomsday,' which is aiming to break global box-office records, will open in theaters on Dec. 16.
