SBS Friday-Saturday drama 'Taxi Driver 3' is a series based on the webtoon of the same name, featuring the hidden taxi company Rainbow Transportation and taxi driver Kim Do-gi completing revenge on behalf of wronged victims in a private revenge agency drama. Within just two weeks of airing, it surpassed a peak rating of 15.4% (according to Nielsen Korea), ranking 4th among all mini-series aired this year, while also dominating the domestic and international OTT viewing rankings, continuing to soar in various popularity metrics and gaining immense popularity.
In this context, the 'Taxi Driver 3' team is raising interest by revealing the appearance of CEO Jang (played by Kim Eui-sung) 15 years ago, before the taxi revenge agency service had started, ahead of the 5th episode airing on the 4th (Friday). The released still shows CEO Jang sitting in a courtroom. With a face full of tension, CEO Jang, who was observing the trial, suddenly seems to be in shock, stands up, and bursts out in anger, being dragged out by court security, evoking sympathy. This raises curiosity about what happened to CEO Jang 15 years ago and what led him to start the revenge agency service.
In the upcoming 5th episode, the 'Rainbow Heroes' will be depicted starting their operation to complete the first request of Taxi Driver 15 years ago, which was the only request they could not resolve. Do-gi (played by Lee Je-hoon) and the members struggle to uncover the secrets surrounding the death of Park Min-ho (played by Lee Do-han), the captain of the volleyball team at Jin-gwang University, who is presumed to have been murdered 15 years ago but whose body has never been found. It remains to be seen whether the 'Rainbow Heroes' can make the perpetrator who killed Park Min-ho pay for their crimes and whether they can uncover the truth behind the ugly incident that has been buried for 15 years.
Meanwhile, director Kang Bo-seung draws attention by revealing his thoughts on directing this episode. Director Kang stated, "Episodes 5 to 8 were difficult to work on, but they are stories I really wanted to cover, and they are connected to the beginning of 'Taxi Driver'. Personally, I believe that the most negatively used phrase in South Korea is 'I don't remember'. I have seen many people selectively remember based on their own interests, saying 'I don't remember' even about recent events. Therefore, I wanted to approach this episode from the perspective of someone who desperately wants to remember, someone who must remember. While some may say 'I don't remember' to avoid minor troubles, for others, that memory could be a matter of life and death. Focusing on that 'memory', I told the story of a man who desperately clings to his memories to retrieve his son, regarding an incident that has not been clarified and is forgotten." He further hinted, "The OST for this episode was written by an artist who participated by capturing the emotions they felt after reading the script. I think this episode has many new viewing points," raising curiosity.
