Song Joong-ki Returns to Romantic Comedy After Two Months with 'Love Cloud'

Actor Song Joong-ki is returning to the romantic comedy genre with the new drama 〈Love Cloud〉 (tentative title) just two months after the end of his previous work. Recently, Song received an offer to star in 〈Love Cloud〉 from the production team and, after positive consideration, decided to take on the role of the male lead, Kang Woo-joo, continuing his path as the 'Romantic Comedy King'.

〈Love Cloud〉 is a romance and romantic comedy about the former flight instructor Kang Woo-joo and the aspiring pilot Ahn Ha-ni, who meet again as an air traffic controller and pilot in the mystical Jeju Island, where love and weather intertwine seven years later. Set against the ever-changing backdrop of Jeju, their reunion and evolving relationship will be depicted emotionally.

In the drama, Song Joong-ki plays the role of Kang Woo-joo, a former flight instructor and current air traffic controller, challenging himself with a new profession. After showcasing an emotional romance in JTBC 〈My Youth〉 following his marriage and the birth of his son, he has once again chosen the romantic comedy genre just two months after the end of his previous work, solidifying his image as a 'melodrama master'.

The direction is handled by director Song Min-yeob, who has been recognized for his delicate emotional lines and youth narratives through KBS2 〈Youth of May〉 (2021) and the drama 〈High Cookie〉 (2023). The script is written by the rookie writer team 'Mad Rabbit', promising a fresh combination of authentic romance and new air with the collaboration of a veteran PD and emerging writers.
