‘F1 The Movie’ is a film that depicts the story of ‘Sonny Hayes’ (Brad Pitt), who was once a promising Formula 1 driver in the 1990s but faced a crisis due to a horrific accident during a race. Thirty years later, he joins a struggling Formula 1 team to compete for the top spot in the world. The global hit ‘F1 The Movie’ captivated audiences worldwide with its thrilling races and, following its streaming release on Apple TV on December 12 (Friday), has revealed behind-the-scenes production details due to the enthusiastic response. Producer Jerry Bruckheimer revealed, "What Director Joseph Kosinski valued most was authenticity," and noted, "To achieve this, the actors actually got into real racing cars," drawing attention.

Brad Pitt and Damson Idris drove real racing cars reaching speeds of about 200 miles per hour, enduring powerful gravitational acceleration while delivering emotional performances and lines through their helmets, creating an extreme sense of immersion. Damson Idris shared, "I had to drive, hit the brakes, turn the steering wheel, and deliver lines. I also had to act well and communicate via radio. I had to perform multiple roles at the same time," revealing behind-the-scenes details. To capture this on screen, the production team mounted ultra-light cameras and iPhone camera systems on actual F1 vehicles to create vivid visuals from the driver's perspective. Filming for ‘F1 The Movie’ took place on the F1 circuit during an actual race, including two ‘APXGP’ vehicles driving together at the British Grand Prix held at Silverstone in 2023, completing scenes in a single take to maximize the overwhelming sense of presence.

Meanwhile, Director Joseph Kosinski emphasized, "Sound accounts for more than half of the experience," and revealed that he put special effort into the sound design of ‘F1 The Movie.’ The production team equipped real racing cars with microphones to capture not only the engine sounds reaching up to 1,000 horsepower but also the subtly different sounds from each Formula 1 team, along with the cheers of the crowd and the noise of the pit crew, realistically capturing the atmosphere and energy of the scene. Legendary composer Hans Zimmer, who was responsible for the music of ‘F1 The Movie,’ created a score that blends orchestral and electronic music to express the sport of F1, where long history and cutting-edge technology coexist. He explained, "The orchestra represents humanity, while the synthesizers represent machines," and stated, "The unpredictability created by the synthesizers resembles racing. That surprise was essential for this film," capturing the unique speed and tension of F1 in the music.

Thus, ‘F1 The Movie,’ completed with the production team's efforts, technology, and intricate sound to capture overwhelming reality, is streaming in 4K quality with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos sound provided by Apple TV, offering an immersive racing experience at home. ‘F1 The Movie,’ which has captivated audiences and sparked a global F1 craze, is now available for viewing on Apple TV and the Apple TV brand section on Tving. The Apple TV app is also available for Android users.
