But just before giving birth, an unexpected obstacle appeared. Nam Bora recalled, “I went to my last regular checkup before delivery, and the doctor said there was almost no amniotic fluid left. In that condition, I couldn’t even try a natural delivery or an induced delivery. The doctor said that if I delayed any longer, the baby could be in danger, so I decided to have an emergency C-section right away.”

She said, “I suddenly had to head to the operating room, and I was so afraid that tears just poured out. But when I thought about Kong-al-i in my arms, I pulled myself together and walked into the operating room. And at 8:24 p.m. on the 15th, I was finally able to meet my healthy son.” She added, “While raising a child, I won’t ever forget this grateful feeling, and I will raise him well, in the right way—and beautifully,” making a firm vow as a parent.

Along with the announcement, Nam Bora also made public for the first time a cute photo of her newborn son. In the picture, the baby—despite being only two days old—has an extremely calm, easygoing expression on the bed in the neonatal ward, sparking amused laughter from viewers. On June 15, Kong-al-i came into the world.

Is it like a second time in life? Kong-al-i is already adapting calmly.

I was preparing for a natural birth with Team Mamas all along.

I worked out hard, too,

and I also managed my diet carefully.

I really wanted to succeed in a natural birth.

But at the last regular checkup before giving birth,

my doctor said there was almost no amniotic fluid.

I couldn’t do a natural delivery, and I couldn’t do an induced delivery either,

so the doctor said that if I stayed like this any longer,

the baby would have a hard time,

and that’s why I had an emergency C-section right away.

Because it happened suddenly,

in my fear, tears poured out immediately,

but thinking about Kong-al-i, I regained my composure and went into the operating room,

and at 8:24 p.m., I was able to meet Kong-al-i.

It’s a shame that I couldn’t give birth naturally,

but so that the child could be born healthy,

it was a time when I could feel grateful to the doctors and nurses at Dondaemun Lin Women’s Hospital

and to my husband, my family, and people around me.
